It's most likely that everyone would agree that a "perfect marriage" is a fantasy. For the sake of honesty, there are many couples that get along extremely well and then there are couples that have a not so perfect relationship that may fall apart any minute now. If this sounds like a familiar scenario, then you might be in need of a marriage rescue plan.
Even though no relationship is a perfect one you need to keep working at it like any other thing worth fighting for in life and in this case, improving your relationship. The reason this is of great importance is because it puts the spotlight on the relationship itself. People need to clearly understand that a good relationship is the direct result of a couple's hard work. Let's be clear that this is not a walk in the park. A good relationship requires a lot of effort but when it is your own relationship then it will be even more difficult to deal with. Now that we understand that – Let's get to work!
First of all you need to observe the situation from a new perspective – How do you see what's happening in your relationship? Are you to blame? What could you do to turn things around? What is good in the relationship now? The reason for these questions is to "open the curtain" and show you an accurate picture of the relationship and what's going on.
After you have established the situation, you will have to have a serious talk with your partner. This is not easy but the important thing is to remain calm, cool, honest and loving towards your partner. An argument is not an option here.
You will be stating the main points in your relationship as you see them.
Don't be amazed if they see things the same way.
What has happened now is that the both of you finally spoke with each other at a deep level. Now you need to implement your "Marriage Rescue Plan". This plan will basically rely and be built around your specific situation. Every individual and couple are different so not all plans suit everyone. However there are some really good resources that can help you. Get on the net, start reading everything you can, try counseling and whatever else you feel can help.
Remember one thing though – All of the information is useless unless you act upon what you have learned.
A commitment is required from both of you in order for any plan agreed upon to work. It will also take some amount of time and effort but as things start getting better, it will be easier to do. The both of you will also be very surprised and happy when you start achieving some results over time. Once you see how easy and rewarding this plan can be you will want to continue and get better at it since it will feel like second nature to you.
